5 out of 5 stars The best guide to surfing Costa Rica out there   April 19, 2009

I've surfed in Costa Rica twice and looked at all the other guides out there and this one is by far the best, especially if you don't speak Spanish - like me. It tells you everything you need to know about how to get around, where to surf, where to stay, where to eat and even where ATMs are located. Along the way, this book also tells you a lot about the culture of Costa Rica in a pretty funny and entertaining way. But perhaps best of all, this book is chock full of great photos, maps and charts that document all the beauty and fun of surfing in Costa Rica. Since I'm not big on carrying a camera, this book was also a great way to show friends where I'd been on my trips.

I bought this book as a gift for my brother and he really likes it. After reading through it, I think I may go to Costa Rica with him!

We're not surfers, but found this to be a great travel guide for where to eat, stay and have fun in Costa Rica. We had a fantastic trip to Manuel Antonio and Golfito! This guide was really helpful.

Having taken a few trips to Costa Rica, this book is the next best thing to surfing with a local guide. Jonathan's advice puts you in the right place at the right time for a good session and he even makes sure you know where to grab that post-surf feast. A good read for all of its guidance as well as culture. Pura Vida!
